Ok, so I'm extremely excited to talk about this amazing hair oil. This miracle oil is incredible! Yes, that’s right. I referred to it as a miracle oil. It’s just that good. Since using the oil I have seen pleasing results: Less breakage when washing and combing my hair as well as noticeable length and density. My hair also seems to have a natural shine whereas before it looked dull at times. The oil is called Batana Oil. Some may have never heard of this rare oil before but you will now!
Batana Oil comes from La Moskitia, Honduras. The oil is extracted from the American Palm Tree (Elaeis Oleifera). The indigenous people of Miskito produce the oil and are called the "Tawira", meaning people of beautiful hair. They have been using this oil for hundreds of years. The scent of the oil is sort of an earthy smell and will catch you off guard at first. I would say that it resembles the smell of coffee. I personally love the smell. The oil is similar in consistency to coconut oil as it gets slightly solid at room temperature and liquefies in warmer temperatures. The oil's composition imparts qualities similar to Olive Oil, as it has high levels of oleic and linoleic acid with lower levels of palmitic acid and other saturated fatty acids.
Not only is this oil great for hair growth and preventing breakage but it also can work as an all- natural dye by naturally darkening grey and white hairs back to your natural hair color. I mean come on, how great is that? No grey hairs! This oil is not only great for your hair but has some amazing skin benefits too.
Some of the benefits of Batana Oil include:
You can use the oil by rubbing it into your hair and scalp and putting on a plastic cap. You would leave this on your hair for at least 25 minutes. An added benefit would be to get in the shower and let the steam penetrate the oil into your hair before washing it out. You can also put the oil in your scalp and hair overnight and wash it out the following morning. I have tried both methods but in addition to that you can put a little oil in your hair and on your scalp and just leave it in without washing it out. This is the way I usually do it if I do not have much time. I have very thick curly hair and don't mind the extra oil in my hair as a leave in. A little does go a long way with this oil.
Batana oil is definitely worth trying out if you want to see more growth and strength as well as experience less breakage with your hair.
